22nd Annual Benefit Dinner Honoring James Jensen
Eccasa held its 22nd Annual Salute to Children Benefit Dinner on October 14, 2008 at Bridgewaters, South Street Seaport in Manhattan. At the event, Eccasa honored long-time supporter James Jensen of the Jenesis Group. Through Mr. Jensen's partnership with the Collin County CAC in Texas, he introduced Eccasa to the concept of creating a "Closet" to support children being moved out of abusive homes. The Jenesis Group provided the start-up funding for Eccasa's first Children's Clothes Closet at the Safe Horizon Jane Barker Brooklyn Child Advocacy Center in 1999.

The event grossed over $415,000 for the Child Abuse Prevention Program to help prevent child abuse in New York City. Former NFL quarterback Ray Lucas hosted the event and actress Bonnie Somerville was a co-Auctioneer for the evening.
